Hello, my name is Ezekiel and welcome to my bio. This is normally the part where you'd get a bunch of design buzzwords thrown at you, so here's a quick story instead. One night in Hong Kong, my friends and I were hungry. We began wandering toward the Temple Street night market and as we walked through live seafood markets, we ended up back by the Filipino restaurant we had been to the first night we arrived. It was now midnight and had been a long day of taking vacation photos for Chinese families, being accused of robbery in thrift stores, and skinny dipping at the Stanley Beach, so we went in. We were chatting about leaving the next day to go back to Thailand when a side quest spawned in. We were getting to know the Filipino lady who owned the restaurant when she suddenly invited us to travel with her to another country. Now, there are some adventures that you tell your mom you're doing before, and then there are some you tell her about after they happen. Taking a 4 am bus to a country we had never heard of with a lady we had met 42 minutes ago when we had a flight to catch in 10 hours is probably one of those you wait to tell your mom, if you survive to tell her. Hi mom. Macau turned out to be one of the most interesting places I've been to and that night reminded me of something I carry into everything I do: the best things don’t come from playing it safe. They come from curiosity, from saying yes, and from stepping into things you don’t fully understand yet. That’s how I approach design.
